Farewell, Rebecca Poretsky!
Our company is changing, and as well-practiced as we are at adapting to change, it sure does bring us sadness to bid adieu to a beloved company member as they leave to pursue other adventures.
Rebecca is joining the esteemed ranks of our alumni. Our stage -- virtual or otherwise -- will not be the same without her. Rebecca first hit the BATS stage 10 years ago, playing as a guest for two years before becoming a permanent member of the BATS performing company. Rebecca has been a valuable member of the cast, the coaching staff and the administration of BATS Improv as well. She's performed in countless shows, lending her directorial voice to shows such as Women of the West, which she created to lift up traditionally untold stories. She's taught hundreds of students that have come through the BATS School of Improv, leaving an impact on each one, and has helped shape this organization from the inside out when she worked to strengthen our school for years as part of the BATS staff. She was even a member of our Board of Directors for the last few months of her time here at BATS. There is not a part of this organization that hasn't been improved by her participation in it, and we will truly and deeply miss her. She will be in the area and I wouldn't be surprised if you see her again in some form or another.
Join us in wishing Rebecca the best in what comes next for her, and if you have fond memories of Rebecca in a show or class, feel free to let us know! We'd love to share them with her to let her know how much she meant to you.
